Summary
In Chapter 19, the army moves into the land of Jeroshon. Most of the Ammonites who lived in the area moved to a safer location after converting to Christianity. Jim and others talk about the strength of these people who are willing to do what is asked of them. Jim describes the city of Jeroshon, including the three walls protecting those who remain. Gallium is waiting for Teancum's troops. They compare notes and know they have about 16,000 men to face Amalickiah's army. Teancum the Younger reveals that Amalickiah defeated Nephihah and other cities in their path. Jim is walking around town with his new friends when he recognizes Onin, manning a stall in the marketplace. (Onin was the blind man who first greeted Jim, Garth, and Jenny when they arrived in this land.) Onin is selling papayas and gives Jim a few.
