Learning to Stand Up for Others.
Jenny is known as a person whom everyone likes. She is a friend to everyone and she is the nice girl. Trina even refers to Jenny as the "mayonnaise," meaning she is the person who keeps things from falling apart and smooths things over. However, being a nice person all the time and picking up the pieces of people's bad behavior is exhausting for Jenny. Jenny feels that she is doing everything in her power to help others, but Luke disagrees. Luke feels that the students in school lack empathy for others. He is horrified by the way people treat each other and he expects Jenny to do something about it. Luke points out that Jenny does nothing to try and prevent people from getting hurt. He also points out that she is a very influential person and needs to effect social change...
