Chapter 8 Summary

Danny is on his way to the airport when he sees Rosemary. Rosemary takes Danny to the airport. Things are a bit strained between them.

Danny arrives in Stoneyfield. Ria and the children are happy to see him.

Barney tells Mona everything about the business and how he is going bankrupt. Mona says she has never cared about being rich. Mona reveals that she has saved and invested money over the years and can bail Barney out of the mess he is in at present. Mona makes a list of demands of Barney which include giving up Polly and the business. Mona also insists on selling the mansion for a smaller house, giving up Polly's flat and the dress shop, returning Tara Road to Danny and Ria, and paying off all debtors. Barney reluctantly agrees.
