Summary
The next chapter is titled “The Flying Train Committee.” In January, Peter's class begins studying New York City. The teacher divides them into groups based on their neighborhoods so they could work on the projects outside school. Peter is grouped with Jimmy and Sheila and they are to do a project on Transportation. They are to do a written report, make a poster, and deliver an oral report. The three decide to meet at Peter's because he is the only one with a bedroom of his own. Sheila immediately tries to take charge of the project, making assignments and insisting she has final say on what Jimmy and Peter decide to do.
