Funiculi Funicula

The Funiculi Funicula café is symbolic of the past. For 10 years, the café has been rumored to be the place where patrons can travel in time. By way of the characters' visits to the café, they are able to physically return to and confront their pasts. The café is not only a portal into the past, but a place which remains untouched by time, and thus allows the characters to reconcile themselves with their former experiences.

Coffee

The coffee that Kazu pours for her patrons at the café is symbolic of transformation. The coffee is the literal agent which ushers the customers out of their present lives and into the past or into the future. The coffee thus allows the characters to transcend their present circumstances and bodies to reach a higher level of understanding via their time travels.
