Summary
Paul wakes up, gradually remembering where and who he is. This proves somewhat difficult for him. It is late March, and he is back in Brooklyn. His bleak situation leads him to feel despair. He leads a discussion panel on self-publishing with his friend Anton. He broke up with Michelle several months ago. Another writer, Juan, joins them, and they eat at Pacifico, a Mexican restaurant. Paul excuses himself weakly. His second novel is to be published the following September, and he is scheduled to go on a two-week book tour. He tries to date Traci, who he introduced Kyle to in the previous chapter, but it never goes anywhere. He has decided to delay romance until after the book tour. He wanders to social gatherings here and there but leaves them quickly due to lack of interest. At his old apartment...
