Chapter 3 Summary
Dirk does not get a good night's sleep. The next morning he is told that Brock is on his way to see him. Brock offers his condolences about the deaths in the Struan family. Brock also lets it be known, as they eat, that he knows The Noble House has financial problems. Brock had an account at the same bank that the Struans did. He also tells Dirk that he holds some of the drafts that Struan and Company has outstanding. Dirk says that the drafts aren't due for another thirty days.
Brock tells Dirk that he didn't orchestrate the run of the bank, but his son Morgan did. Dirk tells Brock that he will wreck his company in the end. Brock tells Dirk to buy himself a coffin and throws some money at him and departs. When Brock leaves, he learns that...
