Although it is only featured in "Eve in Hollywood," Los Angeles is the setting in Table for Two that has the most influence on a story's plot, as the character of Los Angeles itself—the ways in which it promotes ambition and dishonesty—is a subject of frequent conversation throughout this story. "Eve in Hollywood" is particularly interested in the underbelly of Los Angeles, not in its ritzy palaces of success but rather in its underworld of failure, which is populated by a number of individuals who range from sad to dangerous.
