Summary

“Hasta Luego” begins in LaGuardia Airport near Christmastime as a man named Jerry Brooks finds himself delayed in the city upon learning that inclement weather has grounded all flights for the evening. While attempting to secure accommodations for himself for the evening, Jerry makes the acquaintance of a garrulous, charismatic man named Creighton “Smitty” Smith, who chats with him briefly in line before the pair secure their flights the next day. Smitty manages to get through to a hotel and offers to book a room in Jerry’s name, which Jerry accepts, inspiring the two men to take a cab to the hotel together. Caught up in the spirit of the situation, Jerry and Smitty decide to have a few drinks at the hotel bar, where various other travelers quickly join in the festivities.
