Summary
In Chapter 27, on Tuesday, the day of their father’s campaign dinner, Riley notices something strange about their locker when they pass it after lunch. The lock is broken and the books inside are covered with a combination of ketchup and honey. The vandal has cut letters out of magazines to spell out the words “Poor little Riley” (242) on the inside of the door. Riley knows that what they see proves the person stalking them knows exactly who they are and that they attend the school.
Riley is still physically sick from the vandalism when trying to dress for the campaign event that evening. Riley feels their dysphoria more strongly than ever before.
