Lucy

Lucy Szabo is the main character in his novel. Lucy has had diabetes since she was six years old. Her parents discovered that she had diabetes when she started to develop an unquenchable thirst and started to wet the bed. After having the disease under control for so many years, Lucy decides that she is fed up with the disease and stops taking care of herself. Lucy no longer watches what she eats and how much she exercises. Recently she has a developed a theory about vampires. Lucy believes that vampires are real and that they are actually diabetics. She believes that she is one of these vampires. She is not taking her insulin shots like she should be and she is not testing her blood glucose levels either. Lucy's life begins to fall apart. Lucy's grades drop, her relationships with her teachers, school mates, family, and Mark...
