Chapter 19. Shrink-Wrap Summary

Lucy goes to her appointment with Dr. Richard Carlson whom she calls "Dr. Rick". Lucy is resistant to answering is questions but decides to be upfront with him and tell him that she is only there because she is being forced to be there. In turn, Dr. Rick tells her that he gets paid whether she decides to be helped or not. Lucy gets the feeling that Dr. Rick is just trying to "evaluate" her and she is not going to let him dissect her. Dr. Rick suggests that Lucy help the people around her by adjusting her behavior because it is her behavior that influences how people perceive her.

At her home Mark Murphy comes to visit her because he is genuinely worried about her. As they are talking he reminds her of the last time that she was hospitalized...
