Summary

At the end of 1973, Serena received a letter from Jeremy. His letter contained news about Tony. He had divorced after over thirty years of marriage. There had been a rumor that he’d been seeing a younger woman. Tony was on a downward spiral after his marriage ended. He resigned his position and moved to a small cottage on an island in the Baltic. He fell ill and died. Jeremy wrote about what a good person Tony was and a hero in the conflict in Bulgaria, and he lauded the four years he served in MI5.
