Charlie Lewis
Charlie Lewis is 16 year old and just finished his GCSEs. With his friends and classmates make their plans for going off to college, Charlie has a fatalistic viewpoint and resigns himself to looking after his depressed father. His relationships with each of his family members falters as each person learns to live in their newly disjointed state. At home, he wonders if his father will one day commit suicide. He takes care of his father in the ways that he knows how, but avoids him most of the time. Charlie envies his sister, Billie, and the new life that she and his mom make with his mom's new boyfriend and his two daughters. Charlie's request to join this new family is refused, and his relationship with his mother is never fully repaired.
