Summary
Scene Five takes place a little over a month later, in April of 2000, three days after a record setting 617-point Dow Jones drop in the stock market. Tracey stands outside of the bar. She is smoking when Oscar comes outside and asks to bum a cigarette. She quickly dismisses him. However, he stays by the doorway.
Oscar tells Tracey that there are people waiting for her inside. The two bicker back and forth for a bit, as Tracey questions why Oscar is still around. Neither back down, and eventually she gives him a cigarette. After a moment, Oscar asks Tracey about her job at the plant. He recently saw a job posting for Olstead’s Steel Tubing at The Latino Community Center. Tracey is taken aback, she did not realize that the plant was hiring. She immediately becomes defensive.
