Book One, Part Two, Chapters 6-11 Summary

Chapter 6 picks up in the Empire State Theatre on 42nd street. Two employees, Emiliano Sanchez and Cicely, are frightened by a man's laughter during the film, The Face of Death, Part Four. The man who likes movies emerges to get popcorn and requests to see the film again. He touches Emiliano, who goes into a trance and has apparently asked the projectionist to play the film again. The man is anxiously awaiting some major destructive event and has no specific appearance. He is anticipating the end of humanity.

In Chapter 7, Sister Creep has descended into the unused subway tunnels. She has the same dream of a man in a yellow raincoat who is taking something from her. She realizes there is a fireball shooting through the tunnel. At the last moment, she pulls...
