Manhattan
Most of Swan Song takes place in New York City, with the immediate aftermath of the Esquire publication playing out in the city. Truman, Slim and Babe all live in Manhattan. Many scenes in the novel occur in different restaurants across the city. It is at the very restaurant, La Cote Basque, that Truman gets the name for one of the publications he writes for Esquire. Moreover, it was in these very spots that many secrets were shared among the group. The Inner Circle loves to frequent different popular luncheon venues in order to be seen among Manhattan socialites.
