Summary

The Bird Man scolded Ava for almost messing up their chance to save her sister. Ava was beginning to think she’d made a mistake by coming with him. He asked her if she wanted to go back. When she said she did the Bird Man fussed at her because he’d been working two days to get them as close as they were. The Bird Man convinced her to go on by telling her a story of two teens who’d gotten stuck in the swamp. They hadn’t been found by Park Services for 14 days. By that time one of the teens had died of a diabetic episode. He reminded her that Ossie might not even be in the real world any longer.
