Section 12 The Diary pp. 217-229. Summary

Suzanne gets home from the hospital and Matt takes care of her better than a nurse. Matt can really cook. As the days pass Suzanne knows she is growing stronger. She takes Nicky to the beach and they both love the waves. Nicky is big enough now to try to help. He loves to clean and has his own little vacuum cleaner. He takes paper towels after messes. Suzanne treasures every moment.

One morning, before it is even light Matt brings Nicky to Suzanne's bed and wakes her. He has declared a three day outing. They pack and leave the phone behind. They go to many of the old places that Matt and Suzanne had vistsited when they courted. They start with the Flying Horses Carousel which delights Nicky. They visit beaches and eat in nice restaurants. They go...
