Chapter 19 Summary

When Willie and the others go back to prison, they are put into isolation. Willie befriends the young prisoner that delivers his mail and books to his. Despite his hatred for the kid because he's a rat, Willie befriends the kid and convinces the kid to smuggle in a gun and hacksaws for Willie.

Photographer, reporter and Willie make a stop in front of a bank. Photographer says the bank built the safe in plain view in the middle of the bank window as to prevent Sutton from robbing it back in the 1950s. The paper wants a picture of Sutton in front of the bank.

The night Willie plans to break out of the prison, the rat kisses Willie. Willie has to play along so that the kid doesn't go straight to the warden to report the break out. At midnight, Willie...
