Chapter 16 Summary

Willie and Egan check into a hotel. The next day when Willie goes to Egan's room, Egan isn't there. When Willie finds Egan, Egan is drunk.

Sutton takes the reporter and the photographer to the location that Dutch Schultz used as his headquarters. Sutton alludes to the fact that Schultz is the one that helps him take care of the problem Egan poses.

When a girl commits suicide in the hotel where Egan and Willie are staying, Willie uses the makeup in her room to disguise himself. Willie tries to drop Egan off at each of his brothers' houses, but all of the brothers refuse to be associated with Egan. Willie then drives to Dutch Schultz's bar. Bo, a man that works for Dutch Schultz agrees to take Egan off Willie's hands in exchange for Willie not ratting Dutch Schultz out when Willie...
