Chapters 6 - 10 Summary
Jake sits on the front steps of the family home thinking about what E.D. said to him in the field. Playing the bad boy has always been easy for him: no on has ever expected any different from him. For Jake, it's one thing to be considered a bad boy, but it's another thing entirely to be forced to live with them. As he sits brooding, Winston flops down at his feet requesting a belly rub. Jake obliges and finds himself actually laughing with delight at the dog. Soon after, Destiny joins them with a million, nonstop questions, mostly about Jake's spiky hair. Destiny also asks if Jake has any matches he could play with, which Jake refuses. This gets him thinking about the school everything thinks he burnt down, which he did, but no one seems to care that...
