Summary
When Fudge asked where babies come from, Mom reads him the book she had given to Peter when he had asked the same question when she was pregnant with Fudge (“How Babies Are Made”) (13). Afterwards, Fudge tells a lot of people, including strangers and Grandma, about what the book had said (narration does not include a description). Fudge also tells his pre-school class, which leads his teacher to invite Mom to come in and talk with the class as well. When Mom offers to go to Peter’s class, Peter refuses. Meanwhile, Peter’s friend Sheila Tubman suggests that Mom is too old to have another baby, but when Peter brings the question up with Mom, she says she is only 34, and that is not too old at all.
