Chapters 31-34 Summary

In chapter 31, Elvis takes Lucy and Ben to the airport before returning to Mrs. Earle's house. When Elvis learns from the same neighbor that Kerris was back that morning and that he got access to the house, Elvis calls Pike and they break into Mrs. Earle's home as well. Elvis goes through Mrs. Earle's bills in the hopes of finding evidence of a plane ticket or a bus ticket, but finds nothing. However, a check on Mrs. Earle's phone bill proves that Mrs. Earle spoke to her son in prison shortly before she changed her story. Elvis finds this interesting because both Mrs. Earle and her son admitted that they had not talked since LeCedrick's arrest six years ago. Elvis calls Rossi with this evidence and she insists Elvis and Pike take her to Terminal Island to see LeCedrick.
