Chapters 27-30 Summary
In chapter 27, Elvis plans a romantic evening for Lucy, but they decide to stay in instead after a heart to heart talk in which Lucy admits that her controlling ex-husband has been attempting to control her once again now that he has moved back to Baton Rouge. Lucy also admits to a growing dissatisfaction with her life, which leads Elvis to encourage her to think about moving to Los Angeles.
In chapter 28, Elvis meets Joe Pike and another friend, Ray Depente, at the home of Lucas Worley, the lawyer Sherman told him about. They come up with a scheme to get the information they want out of Worley. They go together into Worley's apartment after he leaves and find his drug stash. Elvis then waits for Worley to return. When Worley returns, Elvis convinces him that Pike and Depente are henchmen...
