Summary
Chapter 4
The plan is straightforward. The Marines go in first, pushing aside resistance, while the Third Infantry Division secures positions and establishes lines of communication, forward operating bases (FOBs), alternating jobs with the Marines. They travel on, stopping periodically, and then bed down for the night. A sandstorm hits the next morning. Major Sessions orders everyone to get down. The sandstorm lasts two days. Watching CNN, the soldiers are able to see how some Iraqis are cheering for the Americans. They are also cheering because they are now free. Word also trickles back about casualties.
