Summary

In Act II, Chapter 26, the three return to the theater. The night is cold and they are chilled. Cedar sits in the middle and feels happy. She says she has her brother on one side of her, and her best friend on the other. In “Act II, Chapter 27,” the play comes to an end. Leo confides that he wants to write plays and Cedar compares him to Shakespeare. She says it is not strange goal, but it is a big one. Cedar realizes that she has spent the year since her father's death feeling fortunate to be alive and facing the difficult grieving process, but that she is now ready to admit that she has dreams and hopes for her future. Cedar and Leo talk while waiting for Shannon to arrive. Leo's family goes on vacation each year...
