Summary
In Act I, Chapter 13, Cedar shows up for her first evening of work. At first, she reminds herself that she is supposed to be in England. Later, it feels real. She has never been to England and does not know if this feels like England, “But it felt different. Good” (35). After work, Leo and Cedar go to the portrait hall where they see an image of Lisette. Leo challenges her, asking for details about Lisette, and Cedar gives him the basic facts. Leo wants to offer tours about Lisette, taking patrons to specific spots around town that are significant to her life. The timing is right because Lisette died 20 years earlier.
