Summary

In “A Whiter Shade of Pale (Reprise),” When Kate hears knocking on the door at All’s Fair early Saturday morning, she refuses to answer the door because she fears it is someone from the army. Kate finally hears a female voice and realizes that it is Lorraine. She says she came only to get Pick. Kate’s old anger at Lorraine rises and she tells her that since she abandoned Pick she does not have the right to take him back. Kate tells Lorraine that she cannot stay there and calls her a whore. When Lorraine comments: “Lucky for your husband” (344), Kate grabs Lorraine by the arm and pulls her toward the door. She sees Jessie and Pick standing outside.
