Chapters 7 and 8 Summary

Camp director Jeff LeBow tells Danny that he has found a camper who is willing to move out of the Boston Garden bunkhouse so Danny can room with his friends, but he declines, feeling a responsibility to stay with Zach. Will and Ty are baffled by Danny's decision, but Tarik understands that he's being a stand-up guy.

The second day of camp is even harder than the first one. Coach Powers has placed Rasheed and some of the other taller boys on his first team, while Danny, Will and Tarik are on the second team. Coach Powers continues to favor Rasheed. When the two teams scrimmage, he assigns Danny to guard Rasheed, saying the two boys should get reacquainted, and he comments that the referees were actually the ones who had decided the travel championship game.
