Point of View
Suburban Dicks is a mystery novel told with third-person omniscient narration. It is a linear story with the murder of Satku Sasmal as the inciting incident. Andrea, a pregnant housewife who was destined for Quantico as a profiler, and Kenny, a disgraced Pulitzer-winning journalist are the central drivers of the investigation.
There are lots of characters throughout the novel, some only mentioned in a brief scene or two. They are characters who come in contact with Andrea and Kenny as they move the investigation forward. Some chapters split the focus between Andrea and Kenny, while other chapters will focus on one and then shift to the other.
As expected with a murder mystery, the novel is heavy on plot. That does not mean that plot stands in the way of character development. Both Andrea and Kenny have character arcs that demonstrate how each of them...
