Andrea

Andrea is a twenty-something lesbian living in Portland, Oregon in the 1990s. She is a college dropout who has had two significant lesbian relationships in her life: Vivian and Flynn. When the reader meets Andrea, she is at the tail end of getting over her relationship with Flynn and wants to connect with someone new.

While at a bar, Andrea ends up making out with Ryan, a drummer in a band that she knows through Flynn. Andrea is surprised by her attraction to Ryan, having never been with a man before. Andrea is resistant to Ryan’s advances, but usually gives in to the connection that develops between them. Andrea is excited by the taboo nature of the relationship, but is clear about her sexual orientation.
