Summary

Part 2 is set in 1999 and is collected for the purposes of this study guide into chapter 27. It shifts to Ryan’s perspective and contains a series of notes, transcripts from answering machine messages, a missing cat sign, and letters not sent. Ryan leaves a note telling Andrea that he is going out for a bit and is okay. He makes multiple calls to Andrea, but she does not answer. Ryan explains that he got in the car and started driving.
