Summary
“Aloft” tells the story of 24-year-old Aubrey Griffin as he prepares to skydive with his friends in honor of a mutual friend named June, who has recently died of cancer. Aubrey has an existential crisis about his participation, as Aubrey suffers from clinical anxiety and, therefore, chooses to remove himself from adrenaline-inducing activities. Aubrey decides to go on this trip because of his deep unrequited love for June's best friend, Harriet Cornell. Aubrey is jealous of the skydiving coach who is paired with Harriet, because they have been flirting during the plane ride to diving altitude. Aubrey has a panic attack and begs the jumpmaster he is paired with to let him down.
