Chapter 15 Summary

Bonnie has decided to stay in Florida even as Max rushes back to New York. Bonnie cannot understand why she was not enough to keep Max happy on their honeymoon and is unsure she wants to remain his wife. Bonnie mulls this over as she, Augustine, Tile, and Skink go to the hospital to visit Brenda. Brenda has been beaten badly enough that she needs plastic surgery to repair her face, but is nonetheless expected to make a full recovery. During the visit, Brenda gives Tile the license number of the car she stopped. Instead of giving that information to the detectives, Tile gives it to Skink.

The next morning, the Torres phone begins to ring. Edie picks up after the second or third ring and hears a woman's voice on the other end. Edie hangs up and the next time the phone...
