Chapter 7 Summary
Augustine stays with Bonnie as she is shown two bodies that match Max's general description. One man died from a gunshot, the other in a terrible accident. Bonnie has trouble telling if the second body is Max's or not because there is little left to identify in the face. Bonnie is embarrassed to admit to the medical examiner that she does not know if her husband has any birthmarks that might make identifying him easier. Afterwards, Augustine takes Bonnie back to the area where Max was lost and they search for any signs of him; they find none. Back at Augustine's house, Bonnie listens to another message on the answering machine in New York from Max assuring her he is in no danger and instructing her to call one of his co-workers with instructions on their current ad campaign.
