Chapter 38-47 Summary

In chapter thirty-eight, Kahlan enters the camp of the opposing army. She meets their wizard and the ones that command the army. They say they are Imperial Order troops and their purpose and goal is to rid the world of magic. The wizard they have with them, Wizard Slagle, says he will kill himself once he is sure that all the magic in the world has been stamped out permanently. They tell Kahlan they fight so everyone can be under the same rule. If a group of people refuses to sign under their flag, then those people are killed. They try to take Khalan captive and tell her she will be beheaded. Kahlan is able to kill the Wizard Slagle before she escapes and heads back towards her camp and the Galean soldiers.
