Summary
In Chapter 11, Wren believes Tiernan and Oak are continually leading her to incorrect conclusions to keep her off guard. She is convinced they intend to give her to Nore in exchange for Madoc's release. She feels sure Bogdana's mention of Bex was a threat. She tells Tiernan she did not intentionally meet up with Bogdana, and that she refused to join her. Wren feels scared and sick at the idea that she was made as Bogdana described. Oak returns with clothes and food he charmed from a mortal family. Wren realizes she has to leave Tiernan and Oak. She reminds herself she is always better off alone. That knowledge makes her feel better. Wren wants to find the hairs Tiernan has to ensure he does not use them with the bridle, but she cannot find them. She decides to steal the bridle instead...
