Summary
In Chapter 7, Wren thinks about the kiss on her way to the prison. She has only kissed two others. Though they were doomed, this kiss felt even more so. Jack catches up to Wren. He asks if she is planning to release Hyacinthe. Wren makes a misleading statement, that she is happy about learning to speak like the Folk. She gives Jack the fox one of the dice from Oak's childhood game in exchange for Jack creating a diversion that will allow Wren to reach Hyacinthe. Jack is more excited about the situation once he realizes Wren cherishes this piece. In the prison, she encounters a human girl named Gwen and a water creature before finding Hyacinthe.
