Summary
In Chapter 6, George did not come to the Gopniks’ apartment in the morning to train Agnes. Agnes woke up late and asked Louisa to cancel all her appointments for the day. Agnes and Louisa took a walk around the Reservoir. Agnes reflected upon her old life, when she used to eat noodles at a Japanese restaurant near Gramercy Park with her friends. She said her old friends resented her now for having money; she had given her best friend money to pay off her debts, but the friend would not speak to her afterward because she felt like she owed Agnes. Agnes also told Louisa about how Ilaria hated her. Louisa brought Agnes to the Japanese place in Gramercy Park via a taxi. At the restaurant, Agnes transformed into a much lighter, animated person. She told Louisa about how she met Mr. Gopnik...
