Three Pines
Three Pines is the small, idyllic town where the novel is set. The brutal murder is a harsh contrast to the town in which it has taken place. Three Pines has no police as no crime usually takes place here. The residents talk a lot about the weather as there is not much else going on. Three Pines is a small community where everyone knows everyone, making Jane’s murder more unexpected and horrific.
Jane’s house
Jane’s house remains a mystery throughout most of the novel, as none of her friends have ever been inside and the detectives are unable to see it without Yolande’s permission.
