Summary
In "The Stuff of Dreams", Ulysses, Cress, and Alys travelled to Italy. On their journey, Cress revealed that he had smuggled Claude, the parrot, in his suitcase. He had sedated the “large blue Amazonian parrot” with a veterinary tranquilizer to ensure that Claude would not have to live at The Stoat any longer (123). When they arrived in Florence, Massimo Buontalenti, met with them to facilitate the transfer of Arturo’s estate. He showed them the villa, helped Ulysses open a bank account, and advised them on how to assimilate into the community. Massimo explained that the community was jealous of Ulysses’s inheritance but that, with time, they would accept him into the community; they still remembered the day he ran up to the roof to save Arturo.
