Summary
Regina pulled herself together during the flight back to America. She even composed in her mind an email to send to her Aunt Masha. She planned to offer money to help cover the child’s needs, but to explain again why she could not adopt her. When Bob arrived home that evening, she was too tired to talk so he talked to her about the app Dancing Drosophilae, about which he was very excited. She woke at 3 a.m. and noticed she had not yet gotten a response from Aunt Masha. Later that morning she still had no email.
After Bob left to visit his daughter, Regina got out her mother’s suitcase and went through the items more thoroughly. There were pictures of her mother and Aunt Masha on a trip to Yalta; Regina wondered if they had been lovers. It...
