Summary
On the ferry on the way to his office, Sergey thought about how much he dreaded going to work. He had heard rumors of layoffs and knew he would probably be one of the people let go. He checked Facebook on his phone and saw how his Russian friends seemed to have exciting lives. Sergey wondered why he had been so sure that the move to America would be a good idea. He imagined the ferry crashing and him being killed, a fate he thought would be better than having to go home and tell Vica he had lost his job again.
