Summary

Chapter 4 begins with Dr. Cohen asking Alicia if she is comfortable in her living arrangements, and he asks if there is anything he can bring her. She (somewhat facetiously) replies that she would like a ping pong net, which he regrettably declines, as he cannot provide her with anything that she could theoretically hurt herself with. They agree to each ask each other three questions. She starts by asking his wife’s name (which is Edwina; he calls her Ed). He explains that they have been married eleven years, excepting the three years they were separated, in answer to her second question. She asks what they do together and he lists a series of pedestrian activities: movies, bowling, the symphony.
