Summary

Part 2 starts with Chapter 10, exactly where Chapter 1 left off in December of 2008, this time from Akin’s perspective in Ilesa. He is in the midst of digging his father’s grave. Moomi wants to talk to Akin and tells him a proverb about lying, and she asks Akin for Dotun’s whereabouts. She asks if he is alive, and why Akin will not tell her the truth. The chapter ends as Dotun has arrived and or the first time in a decade Akin faces his brother and they hug. He hopes that his reunion with Yejide will be similar.

Chapter 11 goes back to 1987 in Ilesa with Akin’s perspective. He returns from a trip and sees Funmi in the kitchen. He decides that he needs to get her out of his life. He thinks back about his courtship with Yejide, when he had...
