Summary
In Chapter 31, Akbar tried to kill Gil by pushing him over the edge of an outcropping. Gil was clawing at the edge, trying to save himself when he heard a shot. A hand pulled him up over the edge of the embankment. Hamza explained to Gil he did not trust Akbar and decided to follow them. Gil realized that Shah must have paid Akbar to kill him, which also meant that Shah knew Hamza was Gil’s source, a death sentence for Hamza.
In Iran, Farhad claimed he had been sent by the Iranian secret service to bring them all to the caves and tell them what he knew about the bombs.
