Summary
In Chapter 16, local police from the town of Bad Kötzting, Germany recognized the bomber as Aram Wani. At Wani’s home, a woman claiming to be a police officer talked her way into Wani’s house. Wani, meanwhile, was rushing to get to his family to protect them.
Back in Washington, Betsy was approached as she was unlocking the door to Ellen’s suite of offices by Army Ranger Denise Phelan. Denise said that Whitehead had sent her. Betsy was to call Denise if she needed anything and slipped a phone into Betsy’s pocket. As Denise walked away, Betsy wondered why she would need help from an Army Ranger.
