Summary
In Chapter 11, in his hospital room in Frankfurt, Gil motioned for Ellen to bend down to him. He whispered to her the name Bashir Shah. Years prior, one of Ellen’s reporters had produced a documentary about Shah. She had been warned not to run it. The reporter’s family had been threatened and his sources disappeared. Those threats made Ellen determined to run the story. In response, Shah had claimed he was not an arms dealer, but in reality, Ellen had done him a favor by unintentionally advertising for him. The documentary let the terrorists know from whom they could buy their weapons.
Gil told his mother he believed Shah was involved with the bus bombs. He explained Nasrin, the woman he was following, was one of three nuclear physicists hired by Shah. Ellen reminded Gil that Shah was under house arrest...
