Chapters Twenty Nine and Thirty Summary
Callie takes Tyler to see their new home, and they slowly begin to rebuild their lives. With Lauren as her guardian, she is protected from the Marshals. Michael moves into a cottage on the estate, and then leaves again. Callie leaves messages for Blake, but he doesn't respond. Finally, she goes to visit him and he talks to her at the door as though she is a perfect stranger. Senator Harrison comes to the door and invites Callie to come in. He asks Blake for privacy, and then explains that her entire time with Blake was actually time with the Old Man. The Old Man had held Blake hostage to enforce Senator Harrison's cooperation. The real Blake believes he was sick the whole time. To avoid painful memories, Callie takes Tyler to the vacation home...
